Sonu Nigam was born on 30 July 1973 is an Indian singer whose songs have been featured mainly in Hindi and Kannada movies. Sonu Nigam is the most talented and versatile singer present today in India. Sonu had sung hundreds of song in most of films. He has also sung many songs in other languages including Oriya, Tamil, Assamese, Punjabi, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu and Nepali movies. He has released Indian pop albums and acted in a few movies. He is two time Filmfare Award winner and also one time National award winner. Sonu won millions of hearts with his soothing, melodious and versatile voice. He has huge fan following in India as well as overseas.
Personal Life :- Sonu Nigam born on 30th July, 1973 in Faridabad, Haryana. His family moved to Delhi when he was very young. His father was also a singer And Sonu’s mother was also a singer. He has two younger sisters. Sonu started singing at the age of four, When he joined his father Agam Kumar Nigam on stage to sing Mohammed Rafi’s song “Kya Hua Tera Vaada, Wo Kasam Wo Irada”. From then on, Sonu accompanied his father on his singing appearances at weddings and parties. It was his first stage performance which earned him a lot of praise. He moved to Mumbai with his father to begin his Bollywood singing career at the age of 19. He was trained by Hindustani classical singer Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan.
Career :- His initial years in Mumbai proved to be a struggle, beginning by singing covers of Mohammed Rafi songs, mainly for a number of “Rafi Ki Yaadein” albums released by T-Series. T-Series promoter Gulshan Kumar gave him a chance to reach a larger audience. Nigam started hosting the popular TV show, Sa Re Ga Ma, in 1995. The singing talent competition soon became one of the most popular shows on Indian television. Soon after, he sang “Accha Sila Diya” for the film Bewafa Sanam (1995). He has not only had good record with Bollywood playback singing but Sonu also has series of private pop albums hits. His non-film albums includes ‘Deewana’, ‘Jaan’, ‘Mausam’, ‘Sapnay Ki Baat’, ‘Kismat’, ‘Yaad’ and the latest ‘Chanda Ki Doli’. Sonu Nigam recently appeared as a judge on Zee TV’s singing competition show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs (2007). Sonu also had tried his hand in acting. He appeared as a lead actor in films like Love in Nepal (2004), Kaash Aap Hamare Hote (2003), and Jaani Dushman (2002). But his films didn’t work well like his singing.
