Arijit Singh is an India singer, was born on 25 April, 1987 in Jiaganj, Murshidabad. He is a leading Indian playback singer. Arijit Singh married Koel Roy, his childhood friend on 20 January 2014 in Tarapith temple, West Benga. Arijit Singh is born to a Punjabi father and a Bengali mother.

His father is a LIC agent and his mother is a homemaker. He was given his first break by Shankar Ehsaan Loy, when they offered him to sing the song ‘All for One’ for ‘High School Musical’. Later, he went on to become an assistant to Pritam. Arijit Singh is best known for Tum Hi Ho (song) from Aashiqui 2 that won him Filmfare and IIFA best male playback singer award in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

Personal Life :- Arijit Singh was born on 25 April, 1987 in Jiaganj, Murshidabad. He married with Koel Roy, his childhood friend on 20 January 2014 in Tarapith temple, West Bengal. Arijit Singh is born to a Punjabi father and a Bengali mother.

His father is a LIC agent and his mother is a homemaker. Singh attended Jiaganj Raja Bijoy Singh High School. After high school studies, he proceeded to join Shripat Singh College in Jiaganj. His maternal uncle is a tabla player whereas his maternal aunt is a classical singer. Arjit rose to fame with the singing reality show on Sony Entertainment Television, ‘Fame Gurukul’ in 2005.

Career :- Singh first came into the public eye during a reality show called Fame Gurukul on Sony television, where he lost the finals. He was given his first break by Shankar Ehsaan Loy, when they offered him to sing the song ‘All for One’ for ‘High School Musical’. Later, he went on to become an assistant to Pritam.

Singh lent his voice for Mithoon’s “Phir Mohabbat” along with Mohammad Irfan Ali and Saim Bhat in Mukesh Bhatt produced movie Murder 2 which was released in 2011, as his first Bollywood movie song. Arijit Singh is best known for Tum Hi Ho (song) from Aashiqui 2 that won him Filmfare and IIFA best male playback singer award in 2013 and 2014 respectively. Singh is also known for performing in college festivals and concerts. He has performed thrice in New Delhi.

Arijit made his Gujarati debut with the song “Satrangi Re” from the film Wrong Side Raju. Singh’s work has received praise from several artists. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan mentioned that he likes Singh’s singing along with Ankit Tiwari’s. Shreya Ghoshal remarked that he is “versatile and has a soulful voice”.
