S. S. Rajamouli is an Indian film director and screenwriter, known for his workd in Telugu films. He is best known for directing fantasy works such as Magadheera (2009), Eega (2012) and Baahubali: The Beginning (2015), Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017).
For the Bahubali, He has received the National Film Award for Best Feature Film, and got nominated for Saturn Award for Best Fantasy Film by the American Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films.
In 2016, He was honored with the Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian honor for his contributions towards the field of Art.
Personal Life – He was born on 10 October 1973 in Raichur of Karnataka. However, his native place is Kovvur, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. He studied up to Class IV at Kovvur and continued his education till Intermediate at Eluru.
Moreover his father and brother are in the film industry. So, he joined as an assistant with Editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao for some time. He is married to Rama, they have 2 children S.S Karthikeya, S.S Mayookha.
Career – His other works include the sports drama film Sye, the social problem film Vikramarkudu, which was screened at the International Film Festival of India in the mainstream section. The melodrama films Maryada Ramanna, Vikramarkudu and Chhatrapati were remade in various Indian languages, with successful reviews.
Rajamouli’s 2012 experimental fantasy film, Eega was screened to critical acclaim at L’Étrange Film Festival. In 2015, he directed Baahubali: The Beginning, which became the second Global highest grossing Indian film of all time, and the highest grossing Indian film of all time within India. And it’s 2nd part in 2017 Baahubali 2: The Conclusion on the first day of its release grossed 212.6 crore (2.126 billion) worldwide which is the highest opening ever for an Indian film surpassing Kabali.
