After the grand success of period-drama film “Bajirao Mastani” once again the famous director of Bollywood Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to hit the screens with his next directional period-drama film titled “Padmavati” release date expected in next year 2016.
Padmavati was the queen of Mewar and she was known for her beauty, intellect and courage. “Prakash Kapadia, scriptwriter of ‘Bajirao Mastani’, has been roped in for this project, for which a release date of December 15, 2017 has been finalised,” adds the source.
It is rumoured that Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone might pair up for their third Bhansali film after ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela’ (2013) and ‘Bajirao Mastani’ (2015), but sources associated with the project say that no actor has been approached so far.
The film is a dramatized account of the 1303 siege of the Chittor fort in Rajasthan. Alauddin Khilji, the Turkish ruler of Delhi led the invasion, motivated by his desire to capture the beautiful queen Rani Padmini, the wife of Rana Rawal Ratan Singh, the ruler of Mewar.
