Mohit Chauhan is an Indian singer was born on 11 March, 1966. He is a two-time recipient of the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer. He started his career with one of the successful Indipop bands, Silk Route in 1998. He released two albums with Silk Route titled ‘Boondein’ and ‘Pehchan’. he composed the music and also wrote the lyrics. He was also a part of the television reality series Mission Ustaad on the entertainment channel 9X.

Mohit Chauhan was born on 11th March, 1966 in Nahan in Sirmaur district of the Himachal Pradesh state of India. He attended St. Xavier’s School in Delhi and again moved to Himachal Pradesh to complete his further education. He also got masters in Geology from the Dharamshala College in Himachal. He can speak fluently in Pahari, English and Hindi.
Career :- Mohit Chauhan tasted success when his song ‘Dooba Dooba’ from the Silk Route album ‘Boondein’ became a super hit. The album climbed to number one slot and went on to win many awards at Channel [V] Awards in 1998. He never received formal training in music, but sings and plays guitar, harmonica and the flute. After completing his education in Himachal, Chauhan came to Delhi where he formed the band Silk Route with his schoolmate Kem Trevedi (pianist) in 1996. Chauhan’s career in Bollywood began in 2002 when he sang “Pehli Nazar Mein Dari Thi” in the movie Road. His songs “Khoon Chala” and “Masakali” from the films Rang De Basanti. He has also sung the theme song for ‘Star Parivaar Awards 2011′.
