Begum Jaan is an upcoming 2017 action historical Drama film, directed by Srijit Mukherji and Produced by Mahesh & Mukesh Bhatt. Vidya Balan is playing the lead role in the film. Vidya Balan plays the lead role of a brothel’s madam during the partition of India in 1947. The film will comprise of several female characters playing prostitutes.
The film revolves around the trauma of a displaced woman in a brothel during the time of partition. Vidya Balan plays the madame of the brothel. The film is the Hindi remake of Hit Bengali film ‘Rajkahini’, directed by Srijit Mukherji.
The film get ‘A’ (Adult) Certificate after 11 cuts by Censor Board.
