Aligarh is a 2016 Hindi movie, directed Hansal Mehta, starring Rajkummar Rao, Manoj Bajpai. The film is based on the real life incident of Dr. Shrinivas Rachandra Siras, who was suspended from his job because of his sexual orientation.
Siras was the professor of Marathi at the Aligarh Muslim University. After successfully appealing his suspension, he died in suspicious circumstances. Manoj Bajpai plays the role of Siras, and Rajkumar Rao plays a journalist.
Shooting was held in Bareilly, Agra Uttar Pardesh. The film is going to release in theaters on 26 February 2016. The film’s official trailer has been released.
