The 2017 Australian Open was a tennis tournament that took place at Melbourne Park between 16–29 January 2017. It was the 105th edition of the Australian Open, and the first Grand Slam tournament of the year.
Roger Federer won his fifth Australian Open title, and 18th Major title overall, defeating Rafael Nadal in the final in five sets. With the win, Federer became the first male player to win 3 Grand Slam titles at least 5 times (5 Australian Open, 7 Wimbledon, 5 US Open).
